    Events Module and Golf Event

I am setting up a golf tourney for the first time using the events module.   There appear to be a couple of different options for assigning foursomes and starting hole numbers.  Can anyone tell me how you do it?   Do you use seating for this or do you use the division, team, and position fields from the more information button?  It almost seems like more work to go through the seating process, but I'm not sure.

Any insights you could share on setting up a golf tourney would be appreciated. I'm looking for best practices.   I keep going back and forth on the best way to do this.  If you have a template or instructions that you could share I would truly appreciate it.

Re: Events Module and Golf Event

I have used the seating chart for the last several golf tournaments we have held.  I find it easier due to some of our events being multiple days.  Most of our teams are sponsored by an organization and I simply create a group according to their sponsor and then under the seating notes I indicate if that golfer is golfing one of the days or both.  Then you can seat the entire group at once under the seating chart.  We have sport legends that we bring in for each of our teams and I just rename the table to the legends name and then I will add the starting hole before I export the seating chart to have englarged and available at registration.  Our golfers like to see what hole and legend they are playing with when they register.  It actually is pretty easy to use the seating chart.  I think it also is a double check to make sure that you have everyone and you didn't leave someone out of a group and you can see on the record under the event who they are playing with easily.

I hope this helps you and if you have any other questions, you can let me know.
