What features would you like to see in PE & PEO? What are some of the things on your wish list? It seems that every few days I’ll be searching around in the Knowledge Base for a solution to a problem and come across an article that says:
“This request has been filed as a suggestion. While we may not implement it, we will review it for possible use in future product development. Add me to the list.”
So here’s two quick items from my wish list:
1) Set up a feature in PEO so we can hold seats for a specific group or organization. Only online users with a special code can gain access and select those seats. This way we can hold specific seats for Members or Radio partners and allow these users to utilize on-line ordering. (Go to Knowledge Base solution BB34149 and add yourself to the list if this interests you.)
2) Show the e-mail address on the main page of the Client Portal, just like is done with Phone and Addresses. Capturing and verifying e-mail addresses is extremely important for marketing and communications to our customers. But it wastes valuable time when PE users have to drill into the address edit field to even see if an e-mail address exists for a Client and if it is correct.
These are just a couple of things that I’d like to see implemented sooner rather than later. If these interest you, make your voice heard in this forum and with Blackbaud. And start tossing out your wish list items so we can all weigh in.
Another item for the wish list thread. We would like the e-mail confirmation attachments to be sent as a PDF rather than an RTF file. This has been filed as a suggestion in the knowledgebase. If you'd like to see this implemented as well, please visit Knowledgebase Solution BB600711 and add yourself to the list.
We were just thinking that it would be really great in these difficult times if we could set up payment plans for our customers where their credit card is automatically charged once each month with a partial payment. I think this would also be helpful with donations (we could set it up to automatically deduct $10 each month, until the patron calls us to cancel).
PEO should allow an existing member to upgrade their membership while they can currently only renew at the same level. they want $20k from us to do this, which would be a customization, which is not guaranteed to work in any version but the one we're on.
I second Rhonda on the recurring payment functionality. It seems more feasable now, since the functionality is in the latest version of RE.
Another thing I would like to see is expanded functionality with gift certificates. Peo does support gift cards, but these are different than gift certicates, and require a 3rd party processor to track these. Gift certificates are the merchandise-item/voucher that are entirely contained in the PE database.

This would be complex to work out, but from the customers perspective it is a no-brainer. They expect the same from all online retailers.

Yes, allowing a membership upgrade/downgrade in PEO is huge. Currently we are encouraging people to choose the new membership type they would like and we have to fix the transaction/membership on the RE end.
The other problem for us is that we are only able to collect the name of the person who is purchasing them membership and we print cards for others in the household. To add these fields to the transaction will be a customization, although it seems like something it should be able to do (and a limitation we did not know about)
