    IB Programs

Are there any school who have a high school diploma and an international baccalaureate diploma program?  Our school is in the process of considering adding an IB program for the 2011-12 academic year.  I would like to touch base with any schools who have experience with using Education Edge and both diploma programs.

    Hi!

I'm not sure what some of the other users will have to say about this, but I wanted to provide any information I could to help!

Here are some things to keep in mind:

Are you guys using Graduation Requirements?  If you are, you can add the IB degree as a new degree, with its own specific requirements and everything.

Are you going to need to report a specific GPA for IB students' classes?  Then you'd need to set up a new GPA type for these classes.

And are these courses going to need to be counted in the existing GPA with additional weight?  You've got a couple of ways to do this, depending on how your GPA is set up.  If you weight this on the course record, you'll need to add weighting to the Grading tab of those courses.  If you calculate using credits, maybe these courses would receive more credit.

You'll also want to consider if this is going to use a different translation table than your existing courses, which you would also have to set up in Configuration.

All in all, I don't think these are too difficult since you're getting on top of things this early in the game.  The worst part would be making sure these courses count correctly with your GPA.
