    MEMBERSHIP MANAGER The Membership Manager is responsible for building, marketing and managing the Membership Program.  They are also responsible for the overall maintenance of The Land Trust’s Raiser’s Edge database system including the entry, maintenance and production of all donor and member related data, gifts, acknowledgement and membership renewal and acquisition.  In addition, this position is in charge of membership development programs.  They will act as a liaison to membership volunteer coordinator and set up and assist with administration of volunteer training programs. Sets up opportunities and provides material to volunteers to be able to market the land trust to a variety of touch points in the community.  Membership stewardship: Develops strategies for donor members $500 and below and develop stewardship as to increase and expand their membership giving levels. Identifies donors who can move into the next giving level. The position is full-time, provides benefits, and is non-exempt. The Database Manager reports to the Development Director and works closely with appropriate boards, committees, volunteers, and staff members to ensure the organization’s success.  SOME OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS·       Develop and implement annual Membership growth plan and budget.·       Develop and implement annual Membership retention plan and budget.·       Develop and implement strategies for member cultivation and upgrades.  Is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all donor and membership data files; performs gift and data entry and maintains donor and prospect lists and information.  Provides customer service via phone, email or in person to all Donors and members with regards to changes, updates or gift information on their record   Produces and mails all donor and membership gift acknowledgement utilizing RE mail   Produces and mails monthly membership renewal, annual dropped member and annual appeal acquisition mailings   Develops and produces, in conjunction with supervisor, accurate and timely routine and special reports   Handles all gift processing; acknowledgement; solicitation, attendee and recognition lists for Feast of Eden. Gifts include: gift-in-kind, ticket sales, auction donations and lot purchases   Works with supervisor on annual appeal letters from initiation to completion   Develops and implements a strategy for recording and retrieving information from New Member Survey and Hike/Field Trip signups   Develops strategies for, and manages database consolidations to streamline efficiencies as needed throughout the organization.   Works closely with outside vendors as needed (Examples: printers, mail houses, Blackbaud, etc.)   Trains staff on the use of Raiser’s Edge, as needed   Identifies software application problems; researches and recommends solutions; interacts with contracted technical assistance vendor; interacts with Information Technology Manager, to the extent required to maintain the integrity of the database   Remains informed on database software updates, upgrades and additional services   Prepares documentation for and supports annual audit process   Other duties as required and assigned by supervisor Requirements:   Able to make, follow through and document accountability for short and long term plans   Able to work effectively with colleagues throughout the organization   Able to perceive of and manipulate varied and multiple details   Able to work effectively under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines   Able to train, and effectively utilize staff and volunteers   Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality   Able to sit for two-hour intervals for up to 8 hours per day under artificial lighting and operate a computer, telephone, photocopier, fax machine and other business equipment   Able to walk, climb stairs and lift 30+ pounds or more (boxes of printed materials, wine, etc.)   Available for occasional weekend and evening work Qualifications:   Minimum 3 - 5 years relational database experience, including fundraising software experience, specifically Raisers Edge   Knowledge of fundraising and membership   Proficient in MS Office programs in a networked PC environment   Proficient in information organization   Strong problem solving skills   Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge fundraising software Preferred:      One+ year experience in a fundraising campaign
