    New to RE

    Hello all,

I am very new to RE and would love any helpful advice or suggstions you may have for me. I can navigate in pretty well in the records, mail, and batch tabs. I just started to teach myself some of the reports and querys - which scare me.

    Big Smile

Danielle, if you haven't already, you might consider subscribing to the User's Edge newsletter.  It has loads of tips/tricks for being more efficient in The Raiser's Edge.  We also have a free monthly web session (called user clinics) that might be helpful : http://www.blackbaud.com/events/webseminars.aspx

If you are looking for more formal training, we conduct classes in a few cities in Pennsylvania on a regular basis also.

    Hi Danielle,

As budget and time allow I'd recommmend some training.  :-)  If attending isn't an option, I found the online classes to have a lot of helpful information. On Blackbaud site, look under 'services' 'training'. The user guides available though help/support can answer some questions.

    Welcome to RE!

I would also suggest attending the Blackbaud conference.  They don't have hands-on training at the conference but they do have many very informative sessions on specific RE topics (e.g. Query)

Your peers are right; formal training is the best answer.

A supplement to you and your staff training needs is a power point at http://www.blackbaud.com/files/welcometobb.ppt.  This is a welcome to BB ppt that outlines support resources and channels for engaging.

    Keep your questions coming.
