    Constituency Codes

I need to give all our donors a Donor Constituency Code. I also want this code to be the Primary Constituency Code (listed first). Does anyone know of a way to globally make a specific Constituency Code the Primary for a group?

     Alicia,

You will need to DELETE the Constituent Code from the Constituent record and then GLOBALLY ADD as PRIMARY the Constituent Code.  There is a knowledge base article on this subject that will guide you through the steps:

    Re: Constituency Codes

Can anyone give me the 'heirarchy' of Constiuent Codes by Industry Standards and give me the source website to view?  Example:

    1)  Board of Trustees

    2)  Current Parent

    3) Alumni

    etc.

I have never heard of any industry standards for this and each institution must decide on the heirarchy that best fits their needs.  I can say, however, that most often I have seen Alumni is at the top of the list if you are an educational institution.  From there they all vary most often because the types of constituent codes places use varies greatly.  For example, sometimes Board of Trustees is not a Cons Code but a relationship or an attribute instead.
