    EFT through NetCommunity

We are rolling out NetCommunity in the next few months. Can others using NC comment on whether they are offering recurring gifts (EFTs) and what their experiences have been with those types of gifts in general and especially with regards to reconciliation.  We opted to roll out NC without the recurring gift option since we don't currently use recurring gift types in RE and wanted to keep the new NC process as simple as possible iniatially. But  we are now considering offering that option on the NC giving page in the future so I wanted to get some feedback. Thanks.

    Re: EFT through NetCommunity

We just began implementing the EFT option with both credit cards and ACH transactions. Our RE is intergraded with our EE so reconcialiation has been fairly easy. If you can reconcialiate your regular online gifts you should not have any major problems.

    Re: EFT through NetCommunity

I was trying out recurring gifts and then I found that it shows the donors credit card on their constituent record. Although I know there are features under security to limit the number of people who can see this, this made me decide not to offer it to donors. I understand that an upcoming release of NetCommunity/RE will address this, as credit card info won't be stored anywhere, even hidden away in the database.

    Re: EFT through NetCommunity

The credit card numbers for recurring gifts are passed to RE because you'll need them for subsequent months recurrent gift processing -- which you will do from RE. Only the first gift is processed via netcommunity (and even that may not occur if the individual starts the recurring gift with a future date).

I know there's been some confusion within our Finance team around interpreting recurring gifts & when they have/have not made the first payment -- key piece of information is the credit card authorization code that's passed with the recurring gift & the recurring gift schedule (which indicates frequency/dates for gifts).
