    Organizational Volunteers

We need to keep track of volunteerism by corporate groups and record not only the total hours the group volunteers but also the individuals' names.  Who else is doing this second piece - recording the names of the individuals in a volunteer group - and how/where are you recording the names?  Relationships?

     Thanks.

There are a couple of ways in which you can do this:

    1) If you need to have individual constituent records for all of the volunteers, enter them into your database under individual records and then link them all back to the corporation organizational constituent record, via the relationship tab.

     or,

    2) If you do NOT need to have individual constituent records for all of the volunteers, just set up the corporation organizational constituent record and list the volunteers under the relationship tab.

    Re: Organizational Volunteers

The need is to track individual employee names of corporate volunteer groups and yet not corrupt the Relationship and Reciprocal descriptions netween the company and its employees.

We're considering an Individual Relationship Attribute with a Category of "Individual corporate volunteer" and the description of either the Dep't. table from the Jobs records OR recording the # of hours the individual member of the corporate group worked.  (Time Sheets would record the corporate hours total.)  Basically, we're trying to do a "soft-credit" of hours, so we are able to recognize a corporation for X hours as well as the 5 regular volunteers from that corporation.   Anybody doing this type of volunteer data collection?
