    Development Coordinator

    Tyler Arboretum is seeking a competent and proven fund raiser to serve as the organization’s Development Coordinator.

     One of the oldest arboreta in the northeastern United States, Tyler Arboretum encompasses 650 acres of renowned plant collections, champion trees, historic buildings, and 20 miles of hiking trails through woodlands, wetlands, and meadows. The Arboretum offers workshops, classes, and tours for adults and children throughout the year. 

    The organization is currently poised to move into a new strategic master plan that will lead to a major capital campaign, introducing a period of growth for the organization. More than any time in its history, the functions of advancement will be relied upon to identify and cultivate the relationships and support that will allow Tyler to continue to grow in the areas of destination, preservation, education, and natural stewardship.

     

    Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Development Coordinator has primary responsibility for the planning and implementation of a comprehensive Annual Giving and Membership program along with Grants writing and management.

     

    The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and strong interpersonal, verbal, and written skills. In addition, he/she will possess skills in institutional data base management with knowledge of Raiser’s Edge as well as experience in managing direct mail fund raising and membership programs. A successful track record in grant writing is essential. The candidate should be a self starter and have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Knowledge of the value of Tyler to the community as well as an understanding of its programs and future plans would be an asset.
