    Development Coordinator The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the world’s leading resource for information on the treatment and diagnosis of skin, hair, and nail conditions, has an excellent Development Coordinator opportunity.  This position will be responsible for coordinating special projects such as the annual solicitation for donated products for the Play Sun SmartTM program.  Coordinate fundraising for the AAD Camp Discovery program.  Provide assistance for the Selection Panels for the Astellas Award and the Eugene J. Van Scott Award for Innovative Therapy of the Skin and Phillip Frost Leadership Lecture.  Assist with and/or coordinate other projects as assigned.  Enter data and gifts for identified campaigns into Raiser’s Edge software and provide administrative support to the Development Department.     The AAD is the largest, most influential and most represented of all dermatologic associations.  With a membership of more than 16,000 physicians worldwide, the Academy is committed to excellence in:

     Responsibilities:Responsibilities for the Development Coordinator will include but are not limited to: 
    • Enter all Annual Giving contributions, as well as special event gifts, and online donations into Raiser’s Edge software and prepare acknowledgement letters.  Responsible for general data entry of constituent information into Raiser’s Edge.
     
    • Coordinate gift in kind solicitations for the Play Sun SmartTM program including preparing solicitation letters, conducting follow-up phone calls, arranging timely delivery of the correct quantity of product to the appropriate location, drafting and merging acknowledgement letters for product donations.
     
    • Coordinate multiple solicitations for Camp Discovery Philanthropy including drafting and merging appeal letters, accurately coding brochures and preparing acknowledgement letters.
     

    ·         Assist with preparation of materials for the Astellas Award Selection Panel and the Eugene J. Van Scott Award for Innovative Therapy of the Skin and Phillip Frost Leadership Lecture Selection Panel .

     

    ·         Assist in planning for the Leaders in Giving Recognition Reception including developing copy for save the date cards and invitations, addressing and mailing invitations, collecting RSVPs, developing attendance summary, creating name tags, and coordinating logistics.

     

    ·         Perform various administrative functions including maintaining individual donor files and providing assistance in gathering materials and packing trunks for Annual and Summer Academy Meetings. 

    ·         Responsible for special projects and support of Development Department as assigned. 

     Requirements:High school degree and 3 to 5 years experience in an administrative or project management capacity preferably in the fundraising/development department of a non-profit agency or related organization.  Experience with fundraising software (Raiser’s Edge) preferred.  Ability to apply effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication methods at all levels of the organization including both internal and external constituents.  Possess organization skills and the ability to manage projects and prioritize assignments.   Attention to detail as well as ability to meet deadlines required.  Able to operate standard office equipment and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.    We offer a competitive compensation plan and benefits package including medical/dental/vision/life insurance as well as a matching retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, bonus program, pension plan, paid vacation/medical/personal days, work-life balance, recognition program and business-casual work environment.   For immediate consideration please apply online at www.aad.org and follow the Employment at the Academy link or email resume & salary history to AADjobs@aad.org.  EOE M/F/D/V
