I know this is not the end of the world, but its really annoying. In versions 7.82 and higher, Raiser's Edge will automatically maximise the window when a query is opened. I have to click the little box to un-maximise it - every single time I open a Query!
I can't think of any other software on my computer that has such an aggressive attitude towards my screen real estate, not even Microsoft. I don't understand why they would do this. I have always been impressed with Blackbaud's design skills, but this is amateur. They didn't even provide an option to turn this new "feature" off.
We just installed the latest version last week and I talked to someone in support about this - they informed me that this was a change they implemented because of the requests they've gotten. I find it annoying too. The other issue we noticed is now when we enter a gift in batch it makes you verify the solicitor for each gift - even in a recurring batch with the solicitor name already entered. Does anyone know if there's any work around for that one?
This was a communication problem, pure and simple. The users asked to be able to maximize windows, particularly the events windows. This got relayed to the developers as maximize windows and got implemented as automatically maximize windows.
Personally, I don't think I would find it annoying. The first thing I always do when I open a query window is to maximize it. It's certainly much less annoying than trying to work in a teeny tiny event window where you can't change the size at all.
