    Adding beginning balance to old projects

    I have a question about project beginning balances.

     For some reason, whenever my organization installed FE (back in 2005) they did not include beginning balances for any projects. This has led to the tedious task of exporting project reports to excel and manually inserting the period's beginning balances. My question is, can we open up an old project and add a beginning balance that will carryover to present day?

    You can adjust the project balance without changing account balances.  This will not update the locked beginning balance, but will reflect the correct balance on reports.  To adjust the project balance, first create a reclassification project and reclassification account.  Then use these reclassification records to create a manual journal entry to adjust the balance.  Take a look at Knowledgebase solution BB521753 for the steps.
