    Planned Gift and Donor Recognition

We have a donor who established a Charitable Lead Annuity Trust (CLAT) with us a number of years ago. At the time it was established, we recorded a planned gift (we have the Planned Gift module).  We are receiving quarterly payments but, as these are trust payments and not donations, we have not been recognizing them on our donor roll.  Recently, the donor asked why his name did not appear on our donor roll.  Does anyone have a similar situation? If so, I’d be curious to know how you are handling it.

Re: Planned Gift and Donor Recognition

    Hey Karen,

Are you currently adding these payments as Cash gifts and linking them to the Planned Gift?  This functionality was added in The Raiser's Edge version 7.84 (BB202910), and would allow you to report on the payments you receive for the planned gift.

If you are not already adding the payments into The Raiser's Edge as Cash, check with your business or finance department before you chance your data entry practices.

    Hope this helps!
