    Grants in RE

I was just curious as to how everyone handles their grant tracking in Raisers Edge. I was thinking specifically about scanning outgoing grants, and wondering if there are any actions I might want to use, such as scheduling reminders for grant reports. Any advice is welcome!

I would like to know if anyone has used the Event Module to track grants? Thanks!

    Re: Grants in RE

David, to clarify, are you asking about tracking grants from the perspective of an organization that makes grants to others? Or, as an organization that is sending out grant proposals (seeking funds) from outside foundations?     Our organization fits into the latter category.   We have the Prospect Module and track our efforts there.     Each time the grants writer sends a proposal to a potential funder, all of the info about the proposal is loaded on the Prospect tab of that particular foundation's record in RE.   She attaches the cover letter, budget, narrative, etc. via the Media tab in the proposal's setup window.   She also uses the Actions tab there to set up reminders for herself, such as "report due", or "grant submission deadline date", and leaves notes if she needs to.

She can run a series of pipeline reports so she knows what's been sent out, is about to be sent out, is being researched, has been funded or denied, etc.
