    Database Backend

    Hi Guys,

I'm pretty new to the RE product itself, but have a strong background in Database Administration, and I was wondering what the easiest way was to gain access to the database backend?

I'm finding the GUI approach to a lot of what I want to achieve quite cumbersome, and think I could feel a bit more comfortable with 'real' data to look at.

    Thanks in advance

    Peter-

Since RE uses SQL Server as the back end, you can just setup security and access the database. I believe Blackbaud has optional support and documentation, I think it is still called RODBA. I'm not sure what they charge for it but nagivating the schema without it is difficult but not impossible.

    Re: Database Backend

I think we use MSDE, which as far as I'm able to determine makes this process less possible.

Am I right in assuming that? I'm finding it hard to come across any clear-cut documentation which lays the process out simply.

    Thanks,
    Pete

    Re: Database Backend

    Just FYI, I've resolved this.

    Great.

If you're still active, could you post it?

     Cheers
