California State University, East Bay, seeks a talented Manager of Database Services with experience running the Raiser's Edge (Enterprise) and the Researcher's Edge applications (currently hosted at Blackbaud). It is anticipated that the starting salary will be between $3,915.00 and $5,500. The position is classified as Programmer/Analyst - Career Level and reports to the Director of Advancement Services. University Advancement just converted from Millennium to RE and is gearing up for a comprenensive multi-year fundraising campaign.

 The manager understands the modern computing environment as well as the components and workings of data exchange between various systems and/or applications (client/server and terminal server environment, data connectivity like ODBC, data formats like csv, data transfer mechanisms like imports and exports, data transformations like pivots and data validation).  Working knowledge of MS Access (creating tables and sorting, ordering and querying on data) is essential. Some knowledge of VBA and Crystal Reports would be helpful.

The manager is familiar with the general principles of philanthropic fundraising and prospect research ; understands segmentation and mining of fundraising data and knows what a Chart of Accounts is. Strong customer service orientation and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse student, faculty, staff, and community is preferred. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in information technology or related field.
