Development Manager

Organization:

The Archdiocese for the Military Services serves Catholic military personnel and their families in all branches of the US Armed Forces, Catholic patients in VA Medical Centers, and Catholics in US government service overseas.  The Archdiocese, headquartered in northeast Washington DC (adjacent to Brookland/CUA Metro station), has an immediate opening for a development professional for the position of Development Manager. 

Duties:

a)     increase financial support through fundraising programs which include: direct mail, Combined Federal Campaign, on line giving, grants,  special events, and personal solicitations,

b)     manage the Raisers’ Edge fundraising database and provide timely analyses, reports and records.

c)      Lead the development staff and provide timely guidance, direction and mentoring

d)     Work effectively with and support clergy, chaplains, staff and volunteers

Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years experience in development work, preferably for a university, foundation, or other not-for-profit organization
• Ability to identify grant opportunities and write successful proposals
• Extensive experience with Raiser’s Edge fundraising software (skills in
• queries, designing reports, mail merges, etc)
• Ability to interact effectively with senior executives and officials, and to manage development staff
• Demonstrated experience in achieving or exceeding fundraising goals

• Must be a Catholic in good standing
• Working knowledge of Military organizations would be preferred – and is a real plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree
