Troubles changing fonts, font sizes, bolding, and font colors in e-mail messages

Has anyone else had any troubles changing fonts, font sizes, etc when designing a e-mail message in Blackbaud v 5.5 with patch 4?  I am using internet explorer version 7 and when I highlight and go to the tool bar and try to change the font, size, color, etc. it won't change it.  Also when I press save it will sometimes go through and change the fonts.

    Any thoughts??

    Thank you

I have the same type of problems and have not been able to find a resolution in the KB. I am going to have to create a case.

    It is very frustrating.

I'm not on 5.5 yet, but the same thing happens on 5.1.  I discovered that if I highlight the whole word/phrase and try to change the font/colour/size, it often does not work.  However, if I just place my cursor in the middle of the word/phrase, the format changes work. Might we worth trying on 5.5

You need to hard code your styles into the body of the email using <style> tags. I find the only way to ensure that font changes are made is if you make them in the HTML view. And - you'll lose all of your style tags in html if you use spellcheck or delete rows in a table - so be sure to copy the style tags before making any major functions - and then paste them back into the html.

Not ideal - and something that needs to be addressed. But it's a work-around that will allow you to send attractive emails.

Same on 5.5 - don't hilight the whole phrase - just place the cursor somewhere in the text before changing it.  It works ---at least most of the time!
