Providing teachers access to FA Web via internet

Are there any institutions out there that allow teachers access to FA Web via the internet?  We have 2 campuses and grading becomes an issue since it can be quite time consuming.  Our teachers have been requesting access via the internet so they can work on grades at home.  Has anyone done this and if so can you share your experience with the group?

     Thanks,

    Dexter

While I was not the person to set up the internet access, we have been using FAWeb both intranet and internet for 2+ years. Our teachers love the fact that they can access FAWeb from home. We provide a link from the member-portion of our website to FAWeb on our webserver.

I agree with Debra. I wasn't the one who set the online part up. I don't believe it was terribly difficult. One of the major advantages to electronic gradebooks is availability outside of school. I would very seriously consider it.

Blackbaud provides step-by-step instructions on how to set up your web server and

tweak permissions for purpose of security.  It is not difficult and can be done in a a few

minutes.  We have had a server set up for this purpose for many years so that teachers can

access the student/parent data and enter grades and comments from home or anywhere in the world.

We have had FAWeb and NetClassroom for about three years now. We bought a separate server just for this purpose, which is recommended. Our teachers like the ability to access their gradebooks from home, or anywhere they have the Internet. As stated earlier, Blackbaud does provide instructions on this and their support is knowledgeable if you run into any difficulties. If you get into firewall issues, you always have the rest of us out here who have done this before to give you some guidance.
