I am doing a query for our phonathon. Joe and Jane Smith are married. Joe is the head of the household. Jane makes her own gifts and therefore has her own record. Both have constituent of parent.
When I run the query I see Joe and Jane Smith. And then I see Jane Smith. How do I eliminate Jane Smith from the query results? She has all the same criteria that I am pulling.
Thanks,
Alison
Hi Alison,
You may need to take another step by combining your query with a mail task to best use the head of household processing, see knowledgebase articles BB19753 and BB520345. How do you want to use the query results? Are you exporting from the results tab of your query? Do you want to use the data for a mailing or report? Or is there something else you would like to do with the query results?
Let me know.

Hi,
I am pretty sure I was able to fix this in the export, but I can't recall how I did it! But it appears to be working now. I was trying to get an export to Excel to see how many families I had that would need to be assigned to phonathon callers.
Thanks for your help!
Oh, right. I forgot that head of household processing is available in exports too. I often use queries to get a quick glance at numbers to estimate print jobs, etc. To get a quick estimate using a query, you can include the Head of household field on the criteria tab. See kb article BB18326.
Glad you got it working.
