Hello all, I am relatively new to the letter function on the Gift tab. We do not batch enter gifts (as of yet anyway). I have succesfully added two letters in config, both acknowledging the gift amount. Now I am trying to acknowledge a pledge payment. Our letters state TY for your gift of $xx as payment on your pledge to XXXXX. Your remaining balance of $xxx will be billed to you per your instructions. Everything merges in the letter except the pledge balance. It tells me it is not available in the data source. It is an option in the configuration menu, I have it worded, spelled, etc. correctly. Tara, Are you using RE:Mail to export your letters? If you are the pledge balance field also needs to be in the 'fields to export'. Hope this helps!

Melissa, Thanks for responding. I am not using RE: Mail. I am trying to use the letter function on the gift tab. (Under acknowledged, above receipted). i have set the letter up with the merge fields but the only one that doesn't work is the Pledge Balance. I like to use the option from the gift tab because I only enter a handful of gifts a week into RE. (We are working on entering all of our gifts through RE, but I am the only one entering them, so it's taking a bit of time.) I will look into the Mail feature and see if it better suits my needs.
