What’s New on the Blackbaud Website

Sending out an RSS

A blog about a website is already pretty meta, so a post about subscribing to blogs on a blog about a website takes us into The Purple Rose of Cairo territory, so I'll keep this short.

Because blogs are updated on a irregular basis, the best way to be informed that one has been updated is to subscribe to an RSS feed. RSS, as wikipedia explains, stands for Really Simple Syndication. Essentially, it notifies you when new content has been added to a site that has enabled an RSS feed.

Internet Explorer 7 has a built-in RSS reader. Since I haven't updated to IE7 yet, I've been using Google reader instead. I've subscribed to the main feed so that I receive a notification whenever any of the Blackbaud blogs have been updated, as well as the RSS Comments feed for several individual blogs, so that I can view and respond to comments without manually searching each post.

On the right hand side of this blog are the RSS and Comments RSS links for Web Sitings. To subscribe to this blog or the comments, just follow the links and copy the URL from each page to your RSS reader.

Of course, if you received notification that this post was added through RSS, you knew all this already Wink
