August 2008 - Posts
When we introduced the new forums back in February, we reposted documents that were shared with the client document tag. Each document was posted to a specific forum, and could be accessed by clicking client document in Popular Tags or by clicking Client Documents on the main page of the forums. To make these documents even more accessible, we have reorganized the documents into new forums devoted specifically to shared documents.
The Shared Client Documents Forums include:
All of the documents in the forums were shared by our clients. If you have a report, policy manual, or other document of your own to share, add it to one of the Shared Client Documents Forums by adding a new post and attaching your document to the post. To be notified when a new document has been added, subscribe to the forums.
If you have a document you would like to share that pertains to one of our products that does not have a shared document forum, let us know by leaving a comment on this blog post.
We are excited to announce that we have begun the process of replacing Knowledgebase! Some of the highlights of the new Knowledgebase will include:
- An improved search engine in which you can search on key words, a phrase, or a sentence, and see solutions only about the product you selected
- An enhanced infrastructure to ensure Knowledgebase is available when you need it
- The ability to subscribe to solutions, so you'll be notified automatically when we update solutions that are important to you, such as when an issue has been resolved in a patch
We will be converting more than 65,000 solutions into the new database. This is a huge project and we don't have a timeline yet; we'll update you on our progress in our newsletters and on this blog. During the process, we will be asking for volunteers to assist us and we thank you in advance for your help.
We know Knowledgebase is your source for accurate, timely information and how important it is in helping you make the most of your software. We’re excited about the changes ahead and looking forward to improving your experience.
A secure FTP connection is now available for you to transfer files to Blackbaud. You can connect to our FTP server securely using 256 bit Advanced Encryption Standards (AES) transfer encryption via an FTP client that supports SFTP, such as FileZilla and WS_FTP. The FTP client has a drop-down menu that lists the available FTP types. To transfer data, select the “SFTP – SSH File Transfer Protocol” option and enter the following information:
Host Name/Account: ftp1.blackbaud.com
Port: 22
Some FTP clients may drop the Port 22 from the set up and automatically use it for a secure connection. You will see the message, “Status: Connecting to ftp1.blackbaud.com:22...”
We’ve updated our FTP instructions as well as Knowledgebase to reflect this exciting new feature.
Welcome to Web Sitings, the place to learn about what's happening at blackbaud.com and other Blackbaud websites.
We often roll out new content, features, and processes, and don't always have a channel for communicating them to the public. Well, this is that channel.
We'll be using this blog to talk about what's happening online here at Blackbaud, and hopefully open some discussions about where to go in the future.
For now, expect content to be rolling in from fellow blogger Douglas Clinton and myself.
