Getting Your Money's Worth -Integration

Back in college one of my Econ professors made an observation that college is the only product that we, as the buyer, are completely satisfied with getting less for our money...and in some cases, much less. As students, we most likely paid (and are still paying) a good bit of money to attend the college or university of our choice. Somewhere along the way I'm sure we didn't mind daydreaming during class, skipping over some of that assigned reading or maybe even skipping class. Looking back, it's true, I dished out a lot of money for an education of which I did not take full advantage. In a sense, I didn't get my money's worth, but as my Econ professor and common sense would point out...it was no one's fault but my own.

So have we wised up over the years? Are you fully utilizing the products and/or services that you have purchased?

For example: Do you have Researcher's Edge, The Raiser's Edge and RE: Search module (Prospect tab on constituent record in The Raiser's Edge)? If so, here is one way you can make sure you are getting your money's worth with these programs...set up the Integration between the two databases.

The Researcher's Edge can push and pull information to and from The Raiser's Edge if you have the RE: Search module in The Raiser's Edge.

The following information can be pushed into The Raiser's Edge and pulled into Researcher's Edge.

What are you waiting for? Start maximizing your data's true potential and start getting your money's worth!

To Screen or Not to Screen...

I was perusing through Blackbaud's website the other day...and by perusing I mean, I was probably on a mission to find something, forgot what I was looking for and/or got side-tracked and instead, I found an awesome White Paper. These little gems are written by our very own Managing Director of Target Analytics, Lawrence Henze. White papers are written for you and are at your disposal...essentially, they are free fundraising ideas and marketing tips!

I bet you're wondering how great free fundraising ideas and marketing tips can be? Here is a taste of the one I read the other day:

"Many nonprofit professionals wonder if their organizations should perform prospect screening. The truth is, in a perfect world, nonprofits would be performing ongoing screening, since it’s a necessity for promoting greater fundraising success. But because this isn’t a perfect world, the best plan of attack is to perform prospect screening only when it would be most beneficial and effective. But how do you determine that? Here, development professional Lawrence Henze explores how to assess your nonprofit’s situation to discover how and when to apply prospect screening for maximized results."

That was just the Executive Summary, so go ahead, read the whole thing...I dare you!

Quick Tip: Customizing and Sorting Columns in Researcher's Edge

Unwrapped

To all of our Researcher's Edge users...have you ever been diligently working in a Prospect Group and wished that you could see different columns or have them sort a different way? Wish no longer! The columns and the way they sort are something you can control.

Simply right-click on one of the column headers on the Data tab of the Prospect Group and choose Columns. This will bring up a Choose Columns screen that will allow you to first choose what Columns you want to show and then how you would like them to Sort.

Your changes should be seen immediately and are Prospect Group specific. Don't worry about needing to go back to the basic fields either. There is a Reset to System Defaults button in the Choose Columns screen as well.

So go ahead and get rid of those pesky fields that you don't want to see and start viewing the data that is most important to your organization!
