It's pretty rare that a large company allows its employees to get involved in real decision-making around charitable giving, and the Blackbaud employees that serve on the Grants Committee always do a great job. They are really the ones who do the hard work, and year after year, I am always amazed at the outcome. Trust me, this group works hard coming to consensus, weighing all options and discussing specifics, and their funding recommendations are solid investments. I always feel good walking out of the last meeting, and it's such an honor to work with people who are so focused and committed. Special thanks to Tina Fei (thank you, thank you, thank you!!) and to Committee Members LeAnn Logue, Lindsey Salamony, Robert Goodman & Tui Allen that rolled off after this most recent grant cycle (we'll miss you!!).

Great blog post! I recently started volunteering for my local Ronald McDonald House for parents and families of severely ill children. It's a great place that runs significantly on volunteer support. Then, I started a collection basket in my office and got my entire office involved in donating sample and travel-sized personal care products for use in the guest rooms at the House.

It's amazing how a seemingly small and incidental contribution can really go far toward helping out a great cause. Keep up the good work!
