Sometimes when I click one of these links (say, in an email) it still takes me to the default page. But if i click in the address bar and hit enter, the correct page loads. Anyone know why?

I would caution against the use of "SELECT *", especially with that many joined tables. It's very useful in development so you can see all the columns available, but to anyone who wants to develop a production solution using these queries, please limit your query to just the columns you will need.

Your database server admins will thank you! :)

To get around this for IE, I've read that you can drop a file named favicon.ico into the root of your public site folder and IE will download and use it automatically. That's because IE doesn't allow you to dynamically change a favicon, which is the method used here. Hope this helps!

Nicholai, does this work in IE? I can get it to work in Google Chrome and Firefox but it does not seem to work in Internet Explorer version 6, 7 or 8. I followed your instructions exactly.

There's an overview of tracking conversions at services.google.com/.../index.html. I've been running low on availability to do PEO Labs stuff the last couple of months, so if I get a chance I may play with this a bit and write up a new post with conversion code (if I can figure it out).

Loader is still required if the user hasn't started a session yet (or the user gets bumped to the default page), but you can use any of these in combination with the loader page.

Hey Nicholai,

We currently use the tags, although it is hard to get people to fill in the tags when they create the emails themselves, they are seeing the power in using the correct wording for tracking later.

Google Analytics is a pretty cool tool - I just need to learn more about the rest of it so we can use it to it's fullest capabilities!

We have been using Google Analytics for a while, but once we went from our regular website to the ticketing site - we lost the patron.

Thanks for this article because I have just implemented this and hope to begin tracking.

My question is - are you aware, if when the patron checks out if Google is recording any value to their visit? I was asked to track this and have no clue how!

We send out emails and don't know that they produce any income I guess....

Any ideas?
