Your suggestions work great with organizations. How do you recommend handling the c/o information when both the constituent, and c/o person are people?

Thanks for the question Ashley! AddressFinder can only find new addresses if the current constituent record has a complete US address. So when starting off your query I would ensure each record has a full address (Address lines, City, State, Zip) and the country is either US or blank. From there it is up to you but I think you are on a good train of thought. Finding those most active in your database will help you the most so searching on gift fields is a good place to start. Also don't forget to email AddressFinder (at) blackbaud.com when you are ready to schedule your screening. Our data specialists will export the information for you since you have Blackbaud Connects.

Hi Jimmy,

I am fairly new to the Data Health Center in RE. My organization subscribes to Blackbaud Connects, and we have 5,000 records we can update at this time. Can you give some suggestions for putting together a group of 5,000 people to be updated? I am thinking we will want people who are listed as not having an address or phone number. Then, I can pare the group down more by only including those most active in the organization. I imagine this will include things such as added date, last gift date, etc. Do you have any other pieces of advice of criteria to use or how to put together the query? Thanks!

Hi Jimmy,

We are about to start using the AddressFinder Canadian service. In reading through the guide it says that AddressFinder does not consider 'c/o' or 'attn:' in addresses to be valid and will wipe them out. What is your recommended way of indicating that an address is 'care of'? How do you recommend indicating that an address is to the attn: of a specific department within an organization (ie. Attn: Accounts Payable Dept)?
