Make it Feel Like Home: Easy Access to Reports

Do you find yourself frequently running the same saved reports, such as Financial Statements or the Open Invoice Report? Did you know you can save time by adding a shortcut to saved reports on your Navigation Bar for quick access? Well, you can, and it’s easy to do!

First, set up a shortcut folder on the Navigation Bar. To do this, simply click Favorites, Organize Favorites from the FE menu bar. Highlight the Navigation Bar folder and click "New Folder." Once you've entered a folder name, click OK.

Now your folder is created, so let's add those reports. From any saved report parameter, click Favorites, Add to Favorites from the menu bar. Once you've given the report a name, choose the folder you just created in the "Create in" drop down menu and click OK.

You can now easily access the report by clicking the shortcut folder. It’s that easy! Here’s an added bonus; these reports cross modules. Create a shortcut to the Open Invoice Report, for example, and you can access it from the General Ledger!

Customize Columns

If you are frustrated by looking at columns on records and wishing there was a way to remove them, your wish has been granted. Well, it has been granted in some areas including the Activity tab of records, Student Billing Detail tab of payments, the Line Items tab of an Invoice, and the Reports Page.

Adding or removing columns is easy as 1, 2, 3.

Right click in the column header and select Columns from the list.
Move the column name into the Display these columns box to see the columns or remove it from the box to no longer see it.
Note: You can only remove informational fields from records that are yellowed out. Data entry fields cannot be removed.
Click OK.

That's it, you're done. When you return to the record, you will see that only the columns you selected are visible. This setting follows your user name, so you don't have to worry about resetting the columns each time you log in .

My motto for adjusting columns: "When in doubt right click to see what's there." If you are able to edit the columns, Columns will be listed. If you can't adjust the columns, it won't be there.
