For this episode's news segment, I focused on Blackbaud news from around the globe:

We'll start in England...
Blackbaud Europe's Relationship Management Conference will be held on October 12th and 13th in London. In addition to a wide variety of sessions focused on nonprofit technology and best practices, this year's conference will feature keynote speaker Paul Williamson, the head of ticketing for the 2012 Olympic Games. Drawing on his extensive experience in ticketing and customer relations, Paul will discuss the marketing challenges and opportunities the games bring. (He ultimately has the job of filling 35 stadiums to capacity for 750+ sport sessions.) There is still time to register! For more information, visit http://www.blackbaud.co.uk/.

On to the Netherlands...
Blackbaud Europe recently completed its annual State of the Not-For-Profit Industry Survey, which takes a look at trends in the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy. The research and initial results will be presented at the International Fundraising Congress in the Netherlands on October 21st.

Blackbaud's RLC division in The Netherlands announced that they will partner with Friends of the Earth Netherlands/Milieudefensie, a leading environmental organization with more than 90,000 members that recently selected Charibase, RLC's CRM offering.

Down to Australia....
Blackbaud Pacific recently partnered with FINZ, the Fundraising Institute of New Zealand. The new partnership allows FINZ to provide more educational opportunities to its 400 members and the wider community supporting FINZ's goal of increasing professional standards within the industry.

All the way to Canada...
The Kidney Foundation of Canada recently launched its new site on Blackbaud NetCommunity - you can check that out at http://www.kidney.ca/.

Back in the USA...
Blackbaud was named to Software Magazine's 27th Annual Software 500. The company ranked 133 in the list of the world's largest software companies and has been included in the annual ranking for more than a decade. And last, but not least - registration is open for the Blackbaud Conference for Nonprofits, which will be held in Charleston, South Carolina on November 15 - 18. You can check out sessions and register at http://www.blackbaud.com/events/bb_conf/charleston/nonprofitconf.aspx.

Blackbaud News Roundup

As our Baudcast listeners know, we always wrap up the show with a look at what's new with Blackbaud. I will now be sharing that news roundup here at Blackbaud News too:

We are now looking for speakers for the Blackbaud Pacific Conference for Nonprofits, which will be held in Sydney, Australia on August 20 and 21. If you are interested in speaking, visit www.blackbaud.com.au and drop us an email. We are also looking for speakers for the Blackbaud European Conference for Not-for-Profits, which will be held in London on October 12 and 13. Please contact conference@blackbaud.co.uk or visit www.blackbaud.co.uk for more details.

In more international news, just last week, we announced the acquisition of RLC, a company based in the Netherlands. RLC's constituent relationship management products, Charibase and OneDirect, are used by more than 80 of the largest nonprofit organizations in the Netherlands. The Netherlands is consistently ranked highest in the world for the scale of its volunteering and giving as a share of GDP. We're very excited to expand in this vibrant market and broaden our European presence.

The BlackbaudNow Donation Sweepstakes is in full swing! In case you haven't heard, BlackbaudNow is a joint venture between Blackbaud and PayPal to help small and growing nonprofits easily get online and begin accepting donations. Through June 30, nonprofits that sign up for BlackbaudNow, will be automatically entered in the sweepstakes for a chance to win up to $2500. It only takes five minutes to setup a website, so visit www.bbnow.com to sign up or to learn more.

Another new product that has been getting quite a bit of buzz is Blackbaud NetCommunity Grow, a new quick-deploy SaaS offering that includes nonprofit Internet strategy planning services and ongoing support. We will be holding a web seminar on May 20 providing an overview of Blackbaud NetCommunity Grow. Click here to sign up.

One final piece of product news - The Financial Edge Web Portal launched yesterday, helping nonprofits take their accounting practices online. With WebPortal, users can bring the requisition and approval process online, and create and manage invoice requests, check requests and expense reports via the web. You can read more here.
